Deck staining in Montreal
DV Groupe stains wood decks, steps and stairs across Greater Montreal. Grey, weathered wood gets its colour back, and the stain protects it from sun and weather. It all starts with preparation: cleaning the wood and masking everything that must not be stained.

What we stain
Deck boards
From a small back deck to a large pool deck.
Steps and stairs
The most walked-on surfaces, and often the first to turn grey.
Privacy screens and railings
Stained in the same tone as the deck, so the whole thing reads as one.
New wood or weathered wood
From new wood stained for the first time to grey boards that need reviving.
The same steps, before and after
Grey, weathered wood, then stained. The green tape is still down along the edges.

Deck staining: common questions
How often should a deck be stained?
It depends on sun exposure, the type of wood and the product used. A simple test: sprinkle a little water on the boards. If it beads, the protection is still holding; if the wood soaks it up and darkens, it is time to restain.
Can new pressure-treated wood be stained?
New pressure-treated wood often still holds a lot of moisture and has to dry before it can absorb a stain. The right moment is assessed during the quote.
How much does deck staining cost?
The price depends on the area, the condition of the wood, the number of steps and railings, and the product chosen. DV Groupe does not publish fixed prices: every project gets a free, no-obligation quote.
Do you build decks as well?
Yes. DV Groupe builds and renovates decks, then stains them. The same company handles the structure and the finish.
